Bishop Williams, was born in 1953 to Isaac and Frances Williams of Gallatin, TN. He was the third of eight children. At the tender age of nineteen, he married his high school sweet heart, Joyce L. Carey, of Gallatin.
He loves God’s people. He has a shepherd’s heart, and a man after God’s own heart. He often says, “I want what God wants.”
God began to place a commision on his life. In the year of 1973, God impressed the plan of salvation upon his spirit. He was then baptized in Jesus name and was filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking with other tongues as the spirit gave utterance.
God spoke to his spirit about ministry several years later in 1977. Bishop Williams, then Brother Williams accepted the call of God upon his life. He began evangelizing and held revivals where God led him.
In 1984 God charged him to become a pastor and he started work in Lebanon, TN. It was then when God gave Bishop Williams a vision of the Upper Room Apostolic Faith Church in a store front building. The church was located at the corner of Cedar and Market Street in Lebanon, TN.
After pastoring the Upper Room Apostolic Faith Church in Lebanon, TN for a period of four years, the Lord instituted another transition in his life. In 1988 the Lord moved Bishop Williams back to the former church in Gallatin, Tn., The Zion Tabernacle Pentecostal Church and Upper Room Apostolic Faith Church merged together to be called Zion Upper Room Apostolic Faith Church.
As of 2010, he has been pastor for twenty six years. He is the Diocesan Bishop of the Tennessee Carolina Council of the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ. Under his leadership, the church will be moving into a new facility spring 2011.
But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;...Isaiah 40:31
